Kindle Fire 2

The 10 inch version of the device, as is expected, would come with a more powerful quad core processor.

With the release of a 10 inch tablet, if it actually happens, Amazon would finally be in direct competition with Apple and after a few months, with Microsoft. Besides, to compete with the new Google Nexus tablet, Amazon would certainly have to bring about improvement in its 7 inch tablet as well.

According to the rumors about the technical specs of the new Kindle Fire, its original plastic body would be replaced by black metal body having a shiny look and chrome build.

Besides, the new tablet would also be thinner and lighter compared to the original version, more like the original iPad minus the front end buttons.

As for the technical specs of the 10 inch version, it would come with a front facing camera and physical volume buttons.

Both versions would further contain microUSB ports and HDMI ports.

The announcement of a 7 inch tablet from Google, at a price equal to Amazon Kindle Fire but with better specs, would certainly give real tough time to Amazon.

The 8 GB version of Google Nexus tablet is available for $199 while the 16 GB version would cost $249. Nexus Tablet has all the ingredients to successfully compete with Kindle Fire, which means that to remain ahead in the competition, Amazon would need to incorporate better technical specs in the upcoming version of its tablet.

According to the tech analysts, critical changes in the tablet market would take place during the next couple of quarters. The final verdict as to which tablet would have an upper hand can only be given after Amazon officially announces the second generation version of its Kindle Fire, which we expect to happen within a month or so.
